I studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Central St Martin's, Heritage Management at Birmingham University and Archaeological Illustration at Swindon college/Bath University, specialising in Information Graphics.
I've always been interested in nature, but I'm getting a a growing sense of urgency as threats to our environment and the number of endangered species increase. I do what I can, from creating artwork with a natural history theme all the way to joining a litter-picking team along the River Calder close to home.
I'm inspired by the beauty of plants, animals and birds in the creation of decorative designs - greetings cards, wall art and stationery.
My most important work, though, is working with organisations with a strong environmental message, to help convey that message in an appealing way. By this, I mean information panels and other publications for the public. For example, with a client planning a wildlife-friendly planting area, I want to make that vision come to life! I'm also familiar with all the design tweaks which make text easier to read and understand for a wide variety of people.
